Excursiones Polares nació a partir del proyecto solista de su cantante Roy Milan Johansen.
Con un EP editado de manera independiente, “A la hora” (2005), Johansen convocó a Marcos de Martis (bajo), Lionel Farji (batería) y Ángel Clemente para tocarlo en vivo. La dinámica fue tan buena que decidieron convertirse en un grupo.
Luego de dos años de construir un repertorio y tocarlo en vivo, la banda graba su CD debut llamado Grandes Éxitos (2009) y lo edita de manera independiente. El álbum fue producido por el propio grupo y Damián Anache y masterizado por Pablo Lato.
Pronto el cuarteto se convierte en sexteto con la incorporación de los hermanos Agustín y Martín Vázquez (guitarra y teclados, respectivamente) como miembros estables. Ambos habían participado en el disco como músicos invitados.
En febrero de 2010 graban un video del tema Bradbury bajo la dirección de Dylan Sánchez, seudónimo del guitarrista Ángel Clemente.
A fines del 2010, la banda firma con el sello platense Concepto Cero y se convierte en parte de este colectivo de artistas. Bajo este sello planean editar a mediados de 2011 el sucesor de “Grandes Éxitos”.

Excursiones Polares was born from the solo project of its singer Roy Milan Johansen.
To accompany the edition of his independent EP, A la hora (2005), Johansen needed a band to play live concerts so he invited Marcos de Martis (bass), Lionel Farji (drums) and Ángel Clemente (guitar) to join him. They felt so good playing togheter that they decided to become a band.
In 2009 the band edited their first CD Grandes Éxitos (2009) that was produced by themselves and Damián Anache, mastered by Pablo Latto. Grandes Éxitos was edited in an independent way.
Soon the quartet turned into sextet with the incorporation of the brothers Agustín and Martin Vázquez (guitar and keyboards, respectively) as stable members. Both had taken part on the disc as invited musicians.
In February, 2010 they shot the music video of the tune Bradbury under Dylan Sanchez´s direction, pseudonym of the guitarist Ángel Clemente.
Recently, the band became part of La Plata´s label Concepto Cero. This Label will edit their 2nd cd in 2011
